{"id":214,"date":"2012-07-03T16:43:39","date_gmt":"2012-07-03T20:43:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.amixa.com\/blog\/?p=214"},"modified":"2012-07-03T16:43:39","modified_gmt":"2012-07-03T20:43:39","slug":"iphone-ipad-cannot-verify-server-identity-ssl-issue-and-resolution","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.amixa.com\/blog\/2012\/07\/03\/iphone-ipad-cannot-verify-server-identity-ssl-issue-and-resolution\/","title":{"rendered":"iPhone iPad &#8220;cannot verify server identity&#8221; SSL issue and resolution"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We recently came across an issue with one of our client sites that runs under ASPDOTNETSTOREFRONT where the site would appear function properly on normal desktop browsers (IE 9, FF, Safari, Chrome), but when the mobile site would run on an iPhone or iPad, and the mobile site would go into SSL mode, it would result in the following error message pop-up:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amixa.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/server-identity.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-215\" title=\"Server Identity issue with iphone &amp; ipad\" src=\"http:\/\/www.amixa.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/server-identity.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"267\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.amixa.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/server-identity.jpg 267w, https:\/\/www.amixa.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/server-identity-200x300.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 267px) 100vw, 267px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Cannot verify server identity&#8221;\u00a0&#8211; Safari cannot verify the identity of (your domain goes here).<\/p>\n<p>The issue is that the supplementary Intermediate SSL certificates, in our case, from GoDaddy, are\/were not installed correctly on the server.<\/p>\n<p>To resolve this issue, re-download (if needed) the SSL file which includes your SSL cert and the intermediate SSL certs.<\/p>\n<h4>To Install an SSL in Microsoft IIS 5 &amp; 6<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>To install the Intermediate certificate, click <strong>Start <\/strong>, and then click <strong>Run&#8230;<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Type <strong>mmc<\/strong>, and then click <strong>OK<\/strong>.
