{"id":441,"date":"2015-12-18T10:39:58","date_gmt":"2015-12-18T15:39:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.amixa.com\/blog\/?p=441"},"modified":"2015-12-18T10:40:14","modified_gmt":"2015-12-18T15:40:14","slug":"how-to-migrate-office-2013-or-2016-to-new-computer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.amixa.com\/blog\/2015\/12\/18\/how-to-migrate-office-2013-or-2016-to-new-computer\/","title":{"rendered":"How to Migrate Office 2013 or 2016 to new computer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I recently upgraded my workstation to a new computer running Windows 10 Pro.\u00a0 I needed to move over my Outlook 2016 email accounts and calendars to the new location.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This is a very easy process.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Install Office 2013 or 2016 on the new computer.<\/li>\n<li>Run windows updates<\/li>\n<li>Make sure both computers are not currently in Outlook<\/li>\n<li>Copy the entire outlook data folder to your new computer.\u00a0 I am not providing directions for this.\u00a0 You should know what your doing here (or use google).<\/li>\n<li>Now you will have a copy of outlook data (PST&#8217;s) in both locations.<\/li>\n<li>Copy over any <strong>internet shared calendars<\/strong> from your old machine to the new machine.\u00a0 File location is here, and it would be sitting in the root if it exists:\n<ol>\n<li>C:\\Users\\{username}\\AppData\\Local\\Microsoft\\Outlook<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>On your old machine run REGEDIT.\u00a0 <strong>EXPORT this entire key which contains all your email account settings.<\/strong>\n<ol>\n<li>HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Office\\16.0\\Outlook\\Profiles\\Outlook<\/li>\n<li>Note: If you are on a different version of outlook the version 16.0 will be a different number.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>Copy that REG file to your new PC and double click and let it insert it into the registry<\/li>\n<li>Move over any <strong>signatures<\/strong> from your old computer to your new computer.\u00a0 Those are located here:\n<ol>\n<li>C:\\Users\\{username}\\AppData\\Roaming\\Microsoft\\Signatures<\/li>\n<li>Note: You probably should just copy the entire folder and paste it in the same place on your new PC.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>Launch Outlook on the new PC.\u00a0 <strong>Pick your profile and set as default<\/strong>.\u00a0 Then <strong>go update each accounts&#8217; passwords<\/strong>.\u00a0 Once you update the passwords you will be able to resume doing email exactly as you were doing it on the old PC.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I recently upgraded my workstation to a new computer running Windows 10 Pro.\u00a0 I needed to move over my Outlook 2016 email accounts and calendars to the new location. &nbsp; This is a very easy process.
